Assignment: AfghanistanIn April, 2012 I embedded with members of Alaska's 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Afghanistan. During my time in the warzone I earned the trust of the soldiers and their commanders. Because of this I was given access rarely afforded to civilian media, including attending and filming the field memorial for a soldier killed in combat. War reporting is a big assignment in and of itself, but for me it was the easiest part. I worked for six months beforehand coordinating worldwide logistics to put the trip together by myself. |
